I have long, straight, healthy hair, but it's always flat and lifeless near the roots. Any sugg

I've tried hair spray, spray gel, mousse,(yuck) My hair is wavy naturally but I use a flat iron on the lower sections.... the top is flat and straight naturally... yippy. And no, I'm not getting a hair cut.

This is gonna sound silly, but it DOES work. In the morning, after a shower/hair wash, only condition the ends. Then, take soda cans, (yes I said soda cans LOL) and use them as HUGE rollers. Secure with pins, and here's the trick. Blow dry into the opening of the empty can. When your hair's all dry, you'll be thankful for looking silly with cans on your head for a short while, because the volume is incredible. :)

i know you say no haircut..but if you cut off just like an inch or even less, it will regrow quickly and much more healthy than before. also, the flatiron is probably drying it out..if you can cut down on the amount you use it, that will help too.

Make sure you are washing thoroughly at the roots. Blow dry and brush upside down.

ya i also have straight hair that is fine and hard to get volume at the top. for quick fixes i usually try different parts or put my head down and scrunch the top while my head is down then i bring it back up and flatten it, but this gives it instant volume w/o weighing it down with products.

i also use herbal essences shampoo and cond. which has always worked for me

I use Garnier Frutise. But to get my roots to have volume, I flip my hair upside down while blowdrying and brush. Make sure when blowdrying that your roots are completly dry, otherwise, they will go flat. A round brush with soft picks on it also work real well in giving hair volume.

Ugh. I have the same problem.

Try Ojon Hydrating Thickening Spray. After you wash your hair, towel dry, then just spray some on the palm of your hand and rub it where you need the most volume.

Also when you're drying your hair, finger-comb near the roots instead of using a brush. The hair won't lay as flat that way.
