i have long hair, about 5-7 in below my shoulders, and it is medium thicknes..more towards the thin side. the actualy hairs are pretty thin, but i have a fair amount of them-but my hair still gets thin. i straighten my hair a couple times a week, and when i do, the top of my hair (roots- that area) is veryyyy flat. anything i can do?! i blow dry my hair upside down, and sometimes put a product called root lift in it, but that doesnt help.
any suggestions and how to do them(step by step)
please dont tell me to cut my hair, because ive heard that. but im not going to cut it!!!!

you dont have to cut the length, just layers

tease your hairrr.
(hold your hair up and brush it from the roots to the end)
but dont do it too much or your hair will end up sticking all the way up.

All you gotta do is get a comb with bristles close together, pick up some layers, preferably underneath, and brush towards your scalp. This is called teasing and will SURELY do the trick. Use hairspray too.

backcomb/tease your roots a little and then when straightning dont straighten right up to the root on the top few layers of your hair.
