First of all, CALM DOWN, your hair length will change, and it will be what you want it to be eventually, stop paying so much attention to it, because in a few months, you'll look back at it, and realize that it wasn't such a big deal.
Hair grows at a rate of 1/2 inch per month, or 6 inches a year.
That goes for EVERYBODY'S hair. Nothing will make hair grow faster, so don't fall for those products that say it actually works, because millions of dollars have been (and still is) invested into a product that actually makes hair grow faster.
But there has been no product that does so, so stop wasting your money.
It is true that eating healthy and nutritious meals can help hair, but only makes it HEALTHIER, not grow faster. And cutting off dead ends, or trimming it, will NOT make it grow ANY faster at all, only look better/different because it's even shorter, and your dead ends are cut off.
NOTHING (at all) will make hair grow faster, it's being created in your hair, it's not like there's a whole bunch in there waiting to be pulled out.
Just remember, your young, no one will remeber how bad or horrible you look (no offense) for that long.
Do you yourself even remeber something super embarrassing that someone has done, years or months ago and still tease them about it? No. Because news will change and die. That's just life. I think I've covered every common myths about hair.

So...patience and keep your scalp clean and "stimulated" by brushing 2x daily, finger massaging at night, eat well, drink extra water....and (yeah, this sounds so stupid..but trust me on this) try to be content with the length it is now.....and will grow on it own. I can't help you with the whole growing a few inches over night thing...but I would advise that you did something with your hair, like put it into a pony tail or something so that it won't look like it's too short...unless it's like really really short...so short you can't get it into a pony tail. Then you can try to style it with gel or something until your find something you like. That's what I did. Once I found a good style I did it to my hair every single morning until it grew back. I'd rather have the same hair style everyday that looks good than walk around being completely embarrassed by my head.
